7 Ways to Build Trust in a Relationship
Here are 7 solid ways to build trust in a relationship. In relationships, often it’s things that aren’t obvious that make them successful. Is it essential to always be looking to spice things up? No, as being predictable is more important in reality. This list is guaranteed to build trust in a relationship.
So, first as mentioned above we need to be predictable. Most people think you need to keep mixing things up to keep the romance alive. Of course surprise romantic gifts and dinner dates are welcome, but consistency will be more solid over the long term. Reliability breeds trust in a relationship. Let’s face it, you like to know where your partner is and what they are doing.
Next, be sure your partner knows your needs. Too much guesswork shouldn’t play a part. It is not selfish to do this as it goes both ways. Discover what they want and make sure they understand what you want.
Third, make sure that your actions match your words. The things you say should marry up with your body language. If you say you are happy but you are frowning your partner will look at your actions not listen to your voice. Your partner has to trust your words so they need to match the message.
Fourth, you can say no if you want to. If your partner makes their needs known fine, but you don’t need to say yes all the time. Your partner will not respect you otherwise. Refusal to constantly comply builds trust in a relationship.
Fifth, you have to believe in your partner on a base level. You should believe them when they say they will do something. A failure to build trust will result otherwise.
Whatever you do don’t keep secrets. Secrets are poison in a relationship so be honest and open. Secrets take up a lot of mental energy and this energy would be better put into strengthening bonds between you.
Finally, look for the good in the bad. There is going to be bad spells with any relationship, but don’t let them be completely negative. Make them learning experiences aswell. Problems can mean you do something postive to solve them. There are going to be some bad times, so use them to make you stronger.
