Romantic Valentine’s Day Ideas

Romantic Valentines Day Ideas

Like anniversaries, Valentine’s Day is one of the most special days for couples.  On Valentine’s Day, lovebirds take a moment to remind each other how much they care.  Take Valentine’s Day seriously by saying “I love you” in a unique and meaningful way.

Even women who say they don’t expect any special treatment on Valentine’s Day are hoping to receive a special romantic surprise.  They may say this to avoid pressuring you, or to see if you’ll take the initiative on your own for a creative Valentine’s Day surprise.  Don’t take her words at face value.  If you do, you might find that she is upset and a little hurt.  Even if Valentine’s Day seems a bit too mushy for you, take this once-a-year opportunity to show her you care – she’ll be sure to remember your gesture of love.

Surprises are an excellent romantic Valentine’s Day treat.  Talk to her boss to arrange for her to leave work early, then pick her up early and present her with a beautiful floral bouquet.  Steal her away to a romantic dinner or a day of Valentine’s Day festivities.

Set up a romantic two-day getaway.  There is no need to travel far; a quality hotel in your area will fit the bill nicely.  Call ahead to the hotel and ask for help in decorating the suite for a special Valentine’s Day surprise.  Many hotels are happy to please their patrons, you can start your romantic rendezvous with a gourmet room-service meal, ice cold champagne, and a romantic coverlet scattered with rose petals.

You could also keep your Valentine’s Day simple and festive.  You might find it surprising that one of my favorite Valentine’s Days was a day that started out quite badly.  I left work early on my own, and hadn’t heard so much as a single Valentine’s Day wish that morning.  It was a quite upsetting morning.

After leaving work, I went to my favorite watering hole for a late afternoon cocktail.  I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the tables were each decorated with a single red rose and a card announcing our first Valentine’s Day as husband and wife.  I was emotionally overwhelmed and began to cry.  All was forgiven, and it turns out my husband had planned to receive a phone call from a coworker letting him know I was on the way.  We continued our Valentine’s Day celebration with a wonderful dinner and enchanting sunset views.

They key to an unforgettable Valentine’s Day is creativity.  Surprise her a little bit.  Women enjoy a little mystery.    Some of the normal tendencies of men are to take her to dinner, Valentines flowers, candy, and a card.  All of these things are great.  If you do take her to dinner, keep in mind that there are some classy restaurants that print their menus daily.  In many cases, the restaurant will print a special note upon request.  And keep whatever you do a secret.  She may bug you a bit to find out; stand your ground.

Valentine’s Day is a special day for couples.  It should be treated this way.  Regardless of how the day is spent or if you send flowers Valentine’s Day, make the moments spent with her special ones.
